Oh, and BTW, i, is supposed to be capitalised when used ie: I think, not i think
@Rocklee: This could be renamed the Pedants thread:-)
teehee...you have a kitty picture as your avatar. Thats cute.
who can be bothered capatalizing the i's of every post they make?
ugh... if I must.
funny that there IS posted in this thread, because it has no meaning!
Hmmm. Just stating the fact that the posts have gone off topic means you yourself have gone off the topic. Sometimes it's quite funny to see a petty argument in the middle of a thread - but i don't see one here - sometimes it's irritating, depending on whether the thread has adressed an interesting issue particularly well from different points of view or not.
This one died ages ago, back when the cash master said the OP would probably never return so i think i can excuse a slight drift. Judge ye not less ye be judged!
Dutch Baka, you need to BE a bit baker- i think you mean LUUUUUUUV and not LOVEEEEEEEEE. i mean that just dont make sense. And THAT is padanticity.
I didn't apologize to the OP; I clarified. And it was of my own volition.
I wasn't aware that I had said or done anything for which I owed you an apology. Since I have a personal policy of almost never apologizing on the internet, you needn't expect one to be forthcoming regardless. It is, however, very gracious of you to forgive me anyway and I appreciate it.
Wow a few more posts and you're an emporer or whatever the rank is. How do you feel?
Embarassed.
How much time do you spend on this thing?
Entirely too much. I have no life, you see.
You dont even need to be literate to learn a language.
Im with Mike Cash on his comment.
IF it is your real dream, do something about it. You're definately not too old to start.
If you think it through you'll have considered the possibility that i don't post anything for about a week and then blast out about twenty in one day.
Hey! i know you! you speak japanese don't you. I'm learning japanese. Can you test me and stuff?
I hope I didn't sound like a judgmental hardass (I am a judgmental hardass, so it would be understandable if I sounded like one).
I just want to point out that while the job I do in Japan was never my dream, it is one that a great many people assumed it was impossible for a foreigner to do. If I managed to do it without even the ambition of a dream behind it, just imagine what you can accomplish with action backed up by ambition and motivation.
yes you do come across that way some times. Did you apologize by yourself or were you prompted to do it? you still havn't apologized to me but you made me laugh so i forgive you. Wow a few more posts and you're an emporer or whatever the rank is. How do you feel? How much time do you spend on this thing?
as for the other guy, yeah go achieve your dreams yadayadayada...
i don't really see how it's impossible. It might be difficult but it's not impossible. And like the other person said it does help if you're a good drawer. practise like-forever as well. I've got a mate who is a phenominal drawer and i never see him without a pen in his hand. I have a load of his drawings. Now all i have to do is kill him and get rich! see. always thinking.
Maybe you wont even like Japan, or you won't find learning the language to be as fullfilling as you thought, but it's no reason not to give up before you start.
From the way you phrase your question it sounds like the biggest part of your dream is the ending, and the Japanese and living in Japan part are just a means to this end... if you're good at your art, you can still enjoy that where you are & where you are at in life, right now.
Never give up dreaming, you only just have to work hard for it! seeing you are only 14, you still have a whole live infront of you, so why give up now?
Awh....now come on Mike...you're being modest.
I have friends who are drawing for japanese anime-related magazines, but they have a very good level. You just have to adapt to their style and maybe as everyone stated start to learn japanese ^^
Remember that talent doesn't know any frontier. If your work is good enough, it'll even break through the language and culture barrier.
Anyway good luck in your futur
But many are difficult.
If you are serious, you should start two things TODAY:
1) a Japanese class
2) practice drawing
If you are TRULY dedicated to your dream, you WILL be able to achieve it. Just remember that it's a very very steep slope in front of you.
Hanneesh, you know me?... If my name is "Gaijinian" to you, then you don't exactly know me. But sure, I can test you.
もしかして、Hanneeshさんに対して、私の名前は「ガイ ジニアン」だったら、私の事、知っているとあまり言え ないでしょうね・・・。
I hope I didn't sound like a judgmental hardass (I am a judgmental hardass, so it would be understandable if I sounded like one).

If you're going to have dreams you give up on so easily, there isn't much point in having them to begin with.
Some people just LOVEEEEEEEEEEEE to go off topic, just to make someone else look bad in public who is right and wrong etc. aaaa
funny that there IS posted in this thread, because it has no meaning!
No, this is being PEDANTIC. One, spell the root word, Pedantic, right. Next, use it in a form, not made up. It should be "That is pedantism". Finally, how well do you know Dutch slang and word forms?
