• Royal is stepping up its scheduled service activity in the YYZ-YOW-YUL corridor and to YHZ with an enhanced serv ice at far lower prices than AC, and without advance booking requirements.

But get this: they will also be an Aeroplan partner for earning and redeeming miles! This twist is most interesting in light of the recent Aeroplan spin-off as a separate AC subsidiary, and in line with what was hinted at during our July meeting. (Unlikely Royal miles would earn Q-miles on AC, but one will be able to redeem miles earned on Royal for flights on AC and other STAR partners.)

Other news reports indicated that Royal would also be affiliated with BA and QF, but in a Newsworld interview a few minutes ago with the airline's president, this was noted mentioned.

  • Cool, that's good news. That can give us some room to take another choice if we have little notice to take a flight. Right the penatly for doing this on AC is horrible. Even if the Aeroplan points do not count as Q it still is better than nothing.

That makes me think, Southwest has a frequent flyer program in the US, I wonder with their expansion if WestJet will have to now follow suit with some type of program.

Things just keep on getting more interesting!
